Ariadna Canaan was born in Santo Domingo of Spanish and Lebanese descent. She lived in different countries, Montreal, Canada, Giverny, France, Miami, Florida, U.S.A. She currently lives in the Caribbean, Dominican Republic. She is a multidisciplinary artist and designer, with a degree in applied arts, fine arts, marketing and design, from the Altos de Chavón School of Design, affiliated to Parsons School of Design in New York. Recently, she completed the Photoespaña Master in photography, theories and projects, 2020-2021.
From an early age she has been developing as a visual artist, until 2008, when she decided to use contemporary photography as a tool or discourse in her artistic installations. She has attended specialised courses and workshops on art and design such as The Art of Collecting at Sotheby's Institude and The AI Revolution Art and Technology at Christie's, New York.
She has participated in important exhibitions in museums and galleries in Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, the United States, France, Italy, Spain, Japan and the Dominican Republic. She has received awards and recognitions, such as the National Prize at the 27th National Biennial of Visual Arts in Santo Domingo. He belongs to important art collections.
