Francesco Ruoto, known as Neroh, was born in 1998 in San Severino Marche, Italy. From a young age, his boundless curiosity and passion for craftsmanship led him to explore every form of creation. Raised amidst discarded wood in his grandfather’s workshop, he began sculpting with humble materials, later expanding his practice to drawing, painting, and design. His artistic journey is rooted in a profound observation of nature and an unrelenting quest to unveil the unseen, pushing beyond the boundaries of the ordinary to give life to creations filled with deep, logical, or illogical meanings.
Captivated by the grotesque and the dark, he finds inspiration in occult philosophy, ancient alchemical texts, and esoteric traditions, distancing himself from academic conventions. His art becomes a medium to explore the duality of existence, merging the horror of the grotesque with the sacredness of religion, the rigor of science, and the mystique of magic. Neroh fully embraces the realm of visual arts, mastering graphic design, 3D, and CGI, and collaborates with leading figures in the music industry, from electronic to rock and metal, as well as in film, where he crafts distinctive posters and visuals.
Neroh is more than an artistic pseudonym; it is the embodiment of his dual nature, a fusion of self and alter ego. This entity transcends the limits of rationality, transforming his empathy into dark emotions such as fear and melancholy. The tension between light and darkness, humanity and the supernatural, forms the core of his artistic vision. Neroh stands as the exception that defies the rule, an artist who rejects the notion that everything has already been written or created. He seeks to leave a profound mark, showing the world that emotions still have the power to inspire awe and wonder, reminding us of what truly makes us human: the endless capacity to discover and create.
