Beatrice Pediconi (b. Rome, Italy) is a multimedia artist whose practice locates itself within a discourse around drawing, photography, painting and video. Easily moving on the thin line of demarcation between traditional mediums, Pediconi creates unconventional works that evades forms of neat categorization.Utilizing water as the primary means to create subtle and floating imagery, her work investigates the fleeting, precarious and vulnerable condition of transience. Through a chance – based practice Pediconi releases into the water different pigments and materials, and then captures the ephemeral flow of images with a camera. Untitled records the motion of blue paint, glitter and salt in water. The captured motions reflect Mother Natures’ beauty, but also, her potential destructiveness. The video is in loop to represent the inevitable push towards regeneration.
