The New Media Moment: New York

13 - 15 May 2026

Within the hypermediated environment of Times Square, a global crossroads of visual languages, communication, and cultural flows, The New Media Moment emerges as an international exhibition project dedicated to artistic research in new media. The exhibition will take place from May 13 to 15, starting daily at 3:00 PM, at 1 Times Square, New York City.

The exhibition is conceived as a curatorial intervention in public space, in which digital display systems—the large-scale LED screens that define the urban landscape—are reactivated as cultural devices. Within a context traditionally dominated by commercial dynamics, the artistic image operates as a critical element, temporarily redefining the perceptual and symbolic structures of the site.

In dialogue with institutional programs such as Midnight Moment, The New Media Moment develops an independent exhibition format that investigates the relationship between art, technology, and contemporary media infrastructures. The project focuses on artistic practices working through digital languages—including video, animation, computational art, and artificial intelligence—emphasizing their capacity to inhabit and transform urban space.

The works presented are conceived in relation to the architectural scale and visual density of Times Square, activating a reflection on the screen as a public surface and on the role of the image in shaping collective imaginaries. The immersive and synchronized mode of display contributes to generating a shared experience, in which the audience becomes an integral part of the exhibition device.

The New Media Moment positions itself as a platform for research and visibility for artists, designers, and cultural practitioners working within the field of new media, offering a context of high symbolic and media intensity.

The project is promoted by Art Innovation, an international platform dedicated to the production and dissemination of contemporary exhibition experiences with a strong technological impact.
